Inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit, we began working with the Medellín Entrepreneurship Park developing technological surveillance and design of business models in exchange for the incubation process at the institution. With this approach, our first clients were Ecopetrol, Alumina, MinDefensa, Sura and Ruta N.
We receive structuring, business validation and traction. We became very good at validating the market and showing companies what were these great innovation opportunities that they could develop. However, we realized that the research we presented remained in PDFs: we became frustrated.
We understood that companies have great opportunities and capabilities, but also restrictions and a bureaucratic nature that means they cannot undertake agile projects, when the world really needs it.
This is how we decided to go from being consultants to corporate entrepreneurs adopting the Startup As A Service model. Getting companies to trust our new approach was a challenge: the Corona Organization was the first company that believed in our proposal, allowing us to jointly launch Forticaps, a corporate startup for equine microencapsulated calcium supplementation that allowed Corona to expand its business horizons. .
We became a Company Builder, doing and talking about corporate entrepreneurship when very few were doing it in the country and even in the region.
We declare our higher purpose: to transform the lives of millions of people through high-impact entrepreneurship.
This year we designed and operated the first corporate startup accelerator in Colombia, the Sodimac Corona Accelerator, which sought to support Colombian talent and find those startups focused on the retail and manufacturing industry to solve strategic challenges of the sponsoring companies.
We expanded our business units, developing MVPLab, the minimum viable business validation laboratory and ETK Academy, the training platform in corporate entrepreneurship, experimentation and validation.
We exported our open innovation service to the region with the Starthu accelerator of Humano Seguros in the Dominican Republic, making Estratek position itself in the top 5 of the most important accelerators in the country, differentiating us through our corporate approach.
Starthu called for startups that would contribute to the transformation of the insurance market after the pandemic.
Our open innovation program is strengthened and, together with our strategic ally Endeavor Colombia, we operate the corporate accelerators of Grupo Éxito, Tetra Pak and the Venture Clients of Grupo Energía Bogotá and Coninsa.
Together with Andi and Protección, we launched the “Startup Friendly” seal, an initiative that seeks to promote joint work between startups and corporations, to unite capabilities for the development of innovation projects that generate value for society.
Today we are one of the most important companies in the country in the discovery, testing, operation and acceleration of corporate ventures as exploratory vehicles for the creation of new sources of income with exponential growth in contexts of high uncertainty. Our operation covers 5 countries in the region and our client portfolio is in the top 20 of the most innovative companies in Colombia.
